2004 biko Canine Physio Brace was invented by Thomas Hödl. His German Shepherd "Biko" has degenerative Myelopathie and the the movement was getting worse. Also the physical constitution was getting worse. By keeping an eye on "Biko", the first prototype to assist "Biko" was developed.

The veterinarian, Dr. Markus Kasper, was enthused about the progress of "Biko", and the Canine Physio Brace was applied for a patent. After clinical testing of 8 patients at the "Tierklinik Aspern", under the direction of Dr. Markus Kasper, biko Canine Physio Brace (Hundeexpander in German) was made marketable.

From that time on more than 2.500 patients international was provided with biko.

The biko Canine Physio Brace is already patented in the USA and in Austria. The patent for whole Europe is in process at the European patent office.
